GEOINT Services provides Planet Open Street Map (OSM) data similar in content and purpose as data provided by Planet OSM Data at http://planet.openstreetmap.org/ and extracted data files (such as those) provided by http://download.geofabrik.de. On unclassified networks, one can access the data directly from the unclassified sources while on SC and TC the data is provided by GEOINT Services.
The data, the same regularly-updated set of data leveraged by the GEOINT Services, is made available for direct access and use in a similar fashion as is available on internet-connected networks. The data includes full planet PBF files, extracted smaller PBF files (of select, individual countries), and replication diffs for keeping one's OSM data up-to-date.
The Planet OSM data can be obtained at the following URL below:
An example of using the data might be to use Osmosis or Osm2pgsql on a full planet file. There are two types of planet files available, .pbf files that are a binary format and .bz2 files that are bzipped XML files. The files can be accesses using one of the two links below:
Afterwards, one could leverage the same or similar processes to update their data using the replication, such as the ones here:
Using a full planet PBF file may be too cumbersome for production or testing purposes or some missions may only be concerned with data in a specific country or regions. In these use cases, these smaller extraction files may be useful since they are subsets of the full OSM planet data and easier to work with. Extraction files can be accesses here:
